Who are my Parents

Assalaamu Alaikum, Who are my Parents and what is my responsibility to them do I have to obey them? Do I have to fulfil their every command?  Does Islam tell me to obey my mother or father,  what is my duty to my parents in Law. Do my responsibilities differ to my Parents In Law or are they the same as my own parents.
